Video shows devastation left by Hurricane Ian in part of Florida

In addition to flooding homes, cutting off the only bridge to a barrier island, damaging a historic waterfront pier, and knocking out electricity to 2.5 million people in Florida, Hurricane Ian left a path of devastation in its wake.
One of the fiercest hurricanes to ever make landfall in the United States traversed the peninsula, posing the prospect of catastrophic flooding throughout the state.

Much of Florida and the southeast Atlantic coast received heavy rainfall from Ian’s tropical storm-force winds, which reached distances of up to 665 km.
Sheriff of Lee County Carmine Marceno claimed that Hurricane Ian destroyed his county, leaving thousands of people stranded in the county where Ian made landfall just north of Fort Myers.
According to CNN, the hurricane is responsible for the deaths of at least 15 individuals.
US Vice President Joe Biden has expressed concern about a “substantial loss of life.”

Hurricane Ian’s destruction in area of Florida can be seen on video.
