Before playing Real Mallorca on Saturday in the seventh round of the Spanish League, Barcelona made an official announcement about the injuries to Ronald Araujo and Hector Bellerin.
In September, as Uruguay and Barcelona were playing a friendly against Iran, Barcelona defender Araujo suffered an injury.
Barcelona stated in his statement that Ronald Araujo had successfully had surgery on the long tendon proximal to the right thigh in Finland, under the direction of Dr. Lasse Lembinen, in conjunction with the FC Barcelona medical staff.
Ronald Araujo will be absent from Barcelona from the end of 2022 until the middle of two and a half months, according to Spanish media reports.
The statement continued, “With regard to Hector Bellerin, it was discovered following the Barca defender’s medical checks this morning that he had a lesion to the sole of the left leg. His condition will be assessed in the coming hours in order to establish the length of his absence as well.”
In the Spanish league rankings, Barcelona is in second position with 16 points, trailing Real Madrid (18 points), who are in first place.
Barcelona declares Araujo’s surgery a success. The injury to Bellerin is now officially diagnosed.
