According to several media outlets, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres nominated Senegalese diplomat Abdallah Batili as his special envoy and head of the United Nations operation in Libya.
The administration of Abdel Hamid Dabaiba had protested to Batelis’ selection, claiming that the Senegalese diplomat was inexperienced in Libyan affairs.
The members of the United Nations Security Council are anticipated to adopt the Secretary-nomination General’s to appoint Batelli as the UN ambassador to Libya at their meeting on Saturday.
Senegalese Batele has been appointed as the United Nations envoy to Libya.
