Khamenei: Negotiating with the United States will not end the turmoil

The Supreme Leader in Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, confirmed on Saturday that negotiation with the United States will not end the unrest that the country has been witnessing for two months, because Washington will always demand more.

The Iranian authorities denounce the protests that erupted on September 16 after the death of Muhsa Amini, which was suspended by the Ethics Police for violating the strict dress bases in the country, and it also considers that these protests are “riots” incited by the West, specifically the United States.
“The problem is not rioters in the street, even if every riot and every terrorist are punished . . . the battlefield is much wider. The main enemy is global arrogance,” said Khamenei.

Khamenei made these statements reported by government television, while receiving a delegation from the “packing forces” in Tehran for the occasion of the Basij Week, a group that includes volunteers and a revolutionary guard.
“Some people tell us in newspapers and electronic space that it is sufficient to solve your problem with America and hear the voice of the people, to end the turmoil that started several weeks ago.

“How do we solve the problem with America? Will the problem be solved by sitting, negotiating and obtaining an obligation from America?” He asked.
He replied, “No. negotiation will not solve our problem with America, because it is the pursuit of concessions from Aran. ”
According to Khamenei, the United States is calling for Iran to abandon its nuclear program, change the constitution, limit its influence within its borders, and close its defensive industries.

He stressed that “no Iranian can accept such conditions. ”
He also attacked those who say that “the voice of the people should be heard. ” “The huge voice of the people on the fourth of November (during the pro -government demonstrations) or during the funeral of (General Qasim) Soleimani (assassinated in January 2020). This huge crowd was the voice of the Iranian people.

For his part, President Ibrahim Raisi inspected Saturday for the occasion of the Basij Week, a unit in these forces in Tehran, according to Tasnim.
“You performed great performance while combating rioters,” said before the members of this unit..
