The Tunisian Interior and the delegation of the Human Rights Commission are looking to enhance cooperation

Today, Friday, officials of the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior discussed with a delegation of the High Commissioner for Human Rights headed by Christine Salazar Volcman, director of field operations and technical cooperation in the Commission in Geneva, and the representative office of the UNHCR office in Cantier Erythid and its deputy Samar Khamis, ways to enhance joint cooperation.

A statement by the Tunisian Ministry of Interior stated that the meeting dealt with a set of issues with interest participating in the context of adhering to the highest standards in the field of promoting and protecting human rights and integrating them into the security programs and policies of the Ministry.

Tunisian Interior officials expressed their satisfaction with the existing cooperation paths with the United Nations Commission, which started since 2012, especially in the areas of technical assistance and capacity building through the specialized training courses in order to spread the culture of human rights and perpetuate it in security work.

The UN delegation reviewed the reform and renewal projects that the Ministry of Interior was involved in completing in cooperation with the various national and international partners with the aim of building an integrated security system that takes into account the importance of achieving humanitarian security based on the correlation between the security of the individual, the security of society and the security of the country..
