Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al -Sudani stressed today, Thursday, the importance of achieving the optimal investment of the country’s wealth of oil, gas and natural resources.
This came during his presidency today, a meeting devoted to discussing the integrated gas development project, in the presence of the CEO of the French company “Total Energy”, Patrick Poianne, and a number of officials in the field of oil and energy on the Iraqi side, according to a statement issued by the media office of the Prime Minister, which was reported by the Iraqi News Agency (Consideen ).
The statement added that the meeting discussed the files of development of gas investment in Iraq, and the progress of work in a number of major strategic projects in this regard, the first of which is the project to invest in the burning gas in the southern region of 600 scales (the slave equals one million standard cubic feet), as well as the project of developing the Artawi field, And the project of desalination of the common sea water, which is the projects associated with the Ministry of Oil, as well as the solar energy project linked to the Ministry of Electricity with a capacity of 1000 megawatts.
Al -Sudani stressed the goal of achieving the optimal investment of the country’s wealth of oil, gas and natural resources, and to find sources of alternative and renewable energy, instead of all dependent on fossil fuels.
He explained that the government aims with its projects to reduce the emissions that cause global warming, achieve environmentally friendly projects, face the increasing demand for energy, and provide more job opportunities for the national workforce.
For his part, Boyanier expressed the seriousness of his company to implement its obligations in these projects according to the mechanisms of contracting with Iraq, and its valuation of the directives of the Iraqi Prime Minister to overcome obstacles to the completion of implementation, and the relentless efforts made in this field from the Iraqi side..
