The Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, discussed, during his meeting, today, Thursday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Joao Karvinho, common issues and ways to improve relations between Arab countries and Portugal in the political, economic and cultural fields during the next stage.

Aboul Gheit also met the Irish Minister of State responsible for rural and societal development, on the sidelines of the meeting, where he praised the supportive and positive position of Ireland towards the Palestinian issue, expressing his appreciation for the vote of Ireland in favor of the United Nations General Assembly’s decision on Israeli practices that affect the rights of the Palestinian people in which the association is required The General International Court of Justice is the legal opinion on the legal prospects arising from the continuous violation of Israel for the right of the Palestinian people to self -determination.

The spokesman for the Secretary -General of the Arab League, Jamal Rushdie, stated that the forum aims to deepen cooperation and integration between the two banks of the Mediterranean in a number of fields, the most important of which are economic development, climate change, trade, financing, infrastructure, individuals movement, research and higher education.
