Russian Security Council: We will completely cut off gas from Europe if the price of our oil is capped

The Russian Security Council declared that if a cap was put on the price of Russian oil, all gas would be cut off to Europe. According to Al Arabiya TV, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russian National Security Council, claimed that if a cap was placed on the cost of Russian gas, there would be no gas in Europe.

In particular, when supplies were interrupted via the Northern Stream network, the European Commission had notified the termination of Russian gas supplies to 13 nations in the European Union, whether in full or in part.

The 13 member states of the European Union are currently without Russian gas supplies, whether the cut is partial or complete, according to statements made by Michteld Wardorfer, the deputy head of the European Parliament’s Energy Commission. She added that the likelihood of disturbances and supply disruption risks is very high.

The Russian corporation Gazprom stated that it would halt pumping gas through the North Stream-1 pipeline in order to do routine maintenance on the network. This announcement caused gas prices to spike dramatically.
