US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made a phone call with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed, during which he discussed the situation and the efforts of peace in Ethiopia.
A statement by the US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, said that Plinken spoke with the Ethiopian Prime Minister about the efforts made to bring a permanent peace in northern Ethiopia.

The statement – which came on the official website of the American Foreign Ministry, continued that Blinken admitted the ongoing efforts made by the Ethiopian government to work in order to provide humanitarian assistance without obstacles and restore basic services in the Tigray region, as well as in the areas of Afar and Amhara Al -Majawiqi.

The US Secretary of State stressed the importance of immediate implementation of the agreement to stop hostilities, including the withdrawal of all foreign forces and the simultaneous disarmament of the Tijri forces.
He pointed out that the United States is still committed to supporting the operation led by the African Union, including the African Union’s monitoring and verification mechanism..
