India and Uganda exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues

The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed with its Ugandan counterpart ways to support cooperation and enhance relations between the two countries.

He pointed out that the two sides exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues, including cooperation in the United Nations, the International Solar Energy Alliance, the East Africa Group and the joint market of the East and South Africa regions “COMESA” and the African continental free trade zone.

The statement stressed that the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the level of trade relations between the two countries, as the volume of trade exchange reached 840 billion dollars during the year 2021/2022, and they talked about procedures to increase this size more.
