Lebanese Minister of Transport: Competition for oil and gas sources will increase day after day

Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamia, stressed that the transformations in the world are accelerating, at all levels, and competing for oil and gas sources will increase day by day, which requires us in Lebanon to make our infrastructure from ports and sea transportation on preparedness.

The Lebanese Minister of Transport said – in his speech with the opening of the 35th session of the Arab Transport Council meetings hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria – “I am here today in Egypt, I hold a message of reassurance to every lover of Lebanon, and the port of Beirut,” adding: ” From here, from the land of Kinana, we meet again to discuss our common issues, and together we confirm that our path is to collect our initiatives and our energies, especially since we are in the midst of a world that accelerates the steps of conflicts between its blocs.

He continued, saying: “From Lebanon, I came, from my homeland, who has been designed to withstand the steadfastness in the face of the most powerful tragedies that passed by, from Beirut, from the birth of its port, whose straightness was torn in the tragedy explosion on the fourth of August 2020, but despite that, then Our decision and determination.

It was the activation of the work in it and its reconstruction, which was the challenge that we set in mind as a decision that is not retracted, and whatever the challenges.
He pointed out, “We are open to all investments from friends and siblings to contribute to this project to revive the vital Beirut port, in addition to that we aspire and work that our Lebanese ports are interconnected with each other, by reviving the railway project between them.


He appealed to the Arab Transport Ministers to issue a recommendation to form a working cell from the delegations of the participating countries, setting all experiences, energies and capabilities with the Arab ministries of transport in serving the Palestinian people and advancing their vital facilities..
