Iran announced, on Tuesday, its intention to fertilize uranium by 60 %, at the nuclear site, using the IR6 centrifuges.
According to Iranian media, Iran is scheduled to build a new group of centrifuges on the site.
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency consisting of 35 countries, on Thursday, agreed to a decision that commands Iran to “cooperate urgently” with the agency investigating the effects of uranium that were found in 3 unannounced sites, according to diplomats during the vote that took place during Closed session.
This urgent measure is the second decision targeting Iran during the year 2022, regarding the investigation, which has become an obstacle to talks to revive the Iranian nuclear agreement concluded in 2015, due to Iran’s demand to end the investigation.
This comes as the nuclear agreement stipulates that the uranium enrichment rate in Iran does not exceed 3. 67 percent, which is the appropriate percentage of nuclear energy generation for civil purposes.
The IR6 centrifuge is the most moderate of Iran from the centrifuges in terms of development, and has been used by Tehran for more than a year, for the purpose of uranium enrichment by up to 60 percent, near the degree of purity needed to make weapons, at a station above the surface of the earth in Natanz..
