Israeli fighters chase Iranian cargo planes in the skies of Aleppo and Damascus

According to Al-Arabiya sources in Syria, Israeli aeroplanes struck Aleppo airport on Wednesday evening, where an Iranian Revolutionary Guards cargo plane had earlier landed, amid claims of injuries from Israeli bombardment surrounding Damascus airport.
According to Israeli officials, the attacks were carried out to prevent two Iranian jets from landing in Aleppo.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, four Israeli missiles were fired at a runway at Aleppo International Airport and warehouses nearby, causing a fire and explosions that were presumably caused by an Iranian missile cargo.
The Syrian News Agency also said that the army’s air defences were responding to an Israeli raid over Damascus and its surroundings, and that it had shot down many of them.

The Israeli missiles were also intercepted near the Damascus International Airport road, the Damascus-Daraa highway, and the neighbourhood of Kiswah, south of Damascus, according to the agency.
The bombing of Aleppo airport was subsequently reported by Syrian media, however the damage was restricted to material.

Later, it was alleged that Israel targeted the airport runway before to the landing of an Iranian Mahan Air cargo jet, which was unable to land and then went to Damascus Airport, whose environs were also exposed to Israeli missile attacks.
Last Thursday, a series of Israeli attacks targeted Iranian military sites in the central and western governorates of Tartous and Hama.

These assaults targeted the Military Research Capital, Sheikh Ghadban Camp, and other neighbouring facilities in the Masyaf area, 40 kilometres west of Hama’s centre in central Syria, where Iranian forces have headquarters, training camps, and armament and ammunition stocks.
