The conclusion of the activities of the eighteenth summit of Francophone in Tunisia

On Sunday evening, the Tunisian island of Djerba, the eighteenth summit of Francophone, concluded with the adoption of the “Djerba Declaration”.
Tunisian President Qais Said praised the success of the summit at all levels and the decisions taken for the future of the Francophone spaces, especially young people, in a crisis global climate, expressing his hope that the various decisions that have been approved are practical projects to implement.

Saeed pointed out that the outcomes of the summit that were agreed upon by the participants relate to the economic, social and cultural issues of the peoples of the organization, as well as the ratification of the advertisement on the French language within the linguistic diversity of Francophone, and the strategic framework of Francophone (2023-2030).

The Francophone Summit was held on the island of Djerba on November 19 and 20 under the slogan “Digital Technology as a tribute to development and solidarity in the Francophone space”, in the presence of 31 heads of state, government, more than 35 foreign ministers, accredited ministers, and those charged with francophone and representatives of international organizations.

The summit discussed four main axes: digitization, youth, women, the future of the International Organization for Francophone, in addition to global economic crises and ways to get out of them, enhance peace and security in the Francophone space, and support rapprochement between peoples through the development of the French language.

The closing plenary session of the summit, unanimously, re -elected Louise Mushikabo, Secretary -General of the Francophone Organization for the next four years, and France was chosen to host the activities of the nineteenth summit of Francophone in 2024..
