The British government denies its endeavor to document relations with the European Union

On Sunday, the British government denied a press report stating that London is seeking to document relations with Brussels, three years after the European Union left under the Brexit Agreement.
The Sunday Times quoted an unnamed minister as saying that members of the government are seeking to establish relations in the Swiss style with the European Union. The newspaper said that such an initiative “aims to enhance economic relations” with the European Union.

But the British News Agency quoted a government spokesman as saying that the article was “absolutely not true. ” “This government is working to seize the freedoms provided by Britain’s exit from the European Union to create opportunities that push growth and strengthen our economy,” he added.

The spokesman added that “Brexit means that we will never have to accept a relationship with Europe that would return us to freedom of movement or pay unnecessary amounts to the European Union or threaten the benefits of commercial agreements that we can now conclude all over the world. ”
On Sunday morning, the British Minister of Health denied what was stated in the Sunday Times report. “I have no knowledge of this at all,” Steve Barclay, the formerly charged minister, told Sky News.

“I do not support that. I want to take advantage of the maximum opportunities that Britain’s exit from the European Union. We have a prime minister who himself Brexit. I personally did so and I was the Minister of Brexit, and I worked hard to tighten our control over our laws, boundaries and money.

The Sunday Times said that such a step, which will not be popular with pro -Brexit conservative deputies, could take place during the next ten years in an attempt to reduce the current commercial barriers.
The British supported the exit from the European Union in 2016 and London reached an agreement with the Union three years later.

When he was unable to pass it in Parliament, then Prime Minister Boris Johnson called for general elections and made the agreement an essential clause in his campaign. His overwhelming victory in the elections allowed the agreement to become a law.
But Barclay admitted that the agreement created “difficulties” with tension on commercial issues.

The newspaper stated that the United Kingdom is ready to contribute to the European Union budget, but it will not agree to a return to freedom of movement..
