The Ghanaian national team surprised its Swiss counterpart when it was defeated by 2-0 today, Thursday, in Abu Dhabi, in an international preparatory international match for the two parties for the World Cup finals that start on Sunday in Qatar.
The same tie was imposed until the 70th minute when the English defender, Mohamed Saliso, was awarded to the “Black Stars”, before the English striker Bristol City participating in Championchib (second level), Antoine Siminho, added the second goal after four minutes.
Switzerland played the match in the absence of three players from its ideal squad: defenders Ricardo Rodriguez (Turin, Italy), Nico Elvide (Borussia Monchengladbach), and midfielder Gabriel Soo (Eintracht Frankfurt).
On the other hand, Ghana played in the absence of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Parti.
Switzerland plays in the Qatari World Cup in Group Seven alongside Brazil, Cameroon and Serbia, while Ghana plays in the eighth group alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
