Borno governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zoleum, wrote a letter of condolences to the United Nations after the killing of a humanitarian worker by a soldier in Dambo.
Zolum sent the letter to the representative of the United Nations residing in Nigeria, Matthias North, the letter entitled “Condolences and Solidarity” dated Friday, November 18, 2022.
“I was shocked and saddened by the incident that occurred in Dampois yesterday. I offer condolences to the family of Mrs.
Alam Moulsita, her colleagues in Madiot de Monde (DM), the entire human society and the United Nations, who are constantly making huge sacrifices to support our people . . . as I offer. My condolences to the families of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in an attempt to curb the perpetrator. ”
He continued: “This was a sad isolated incident, which we have not seen before, which may not be unrelated to the mental health of the soldier concerned.
”
And he added: “The injured pilot was carried out appropriately and he is well recovered. We will do everything we can to continue his support to obtain what he needs to recover. ”
He added: “I want to assure our partners and the general public that this is an isolated incident and that the army is investigating what happened.
”
He explained: “We are confident that our other military and security apparatus is committed to guaranteeing peace and security and property in the state of Borno, Nigeria. ”
“We will continue to work with the army and our partners to support mental health programs in the theater. “.
