The price of fuel today in Lebanon stabilized today, Friday, November 18, 2022, according to the prices announced by the Ministry of Energy and Water at the beginning of the morning trading.
This comes after the significant increase in the prices of gasoline and diesel, which the markets have witnessed in Lebanon during the past few days, in light of the significant increase in the prices of the US dollar, which exceeded the barrier of 30 thousand pounds per dollar, before the decrease again after the intervention of the Central Bank of Lebanon.

Fuel prices came according to the schedule announced by the ministry as follows:
First: 98 octane gasoline plate reached 828 thousand pounds, compared to 807 thousand pounds.
Second: 95 octane gasoline plate reached 811 thousand pounds, compared to 790 thousand pounds.
Third: The diesel plate reached 878 thousand pounds, compared to 869 thousand pounds.
Fourth: The gas bottle reached 446 thousand pounds, compared to 442 thousand pounds.
This comes in light of a sharp decline in the Lebanese pound that started since 2019 against the dollar, coinciding with a severe liquidity crisis, and banks stopped providing depositors with their money in dollars, while the official exchange rate is still fixed at 1507 pounds.
In addition to coinciding with the increase in the value of the gasoline import bill by 70% since the beginning of the current year 2022, the Central Bank of Lebanon becomes unable to continue to bear the burden of hydrocarbons..
