The US State Department denies reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran

The US State Department rejected an agreement with Iran on its nuclear programme today, Tuesday, emphasising that the negotiations with Tehran were still ongoing.
According to the US State Department, the US responded to the proposed European wording, therefore the matter is not now in Washington’s hands.

Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesman for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, was quoted by Iran International channel as saying that Iran should not have to meet the requests of the IAEA.
Tehran will adhere to the commitments it made under the nuclear deal if the West lifts the sanctions and resumes its obligations, he continued.

Mohammad Eslami, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, slammed France on Monday as the nuclear talks entered their crucial final phase.
According to what local media reported, he claimed in press statements that France was the most problematic party in the lengthy negotiations.

He also believed that dropping the accusations against his nation and refraining from publishing false information and fake papers against it would serve as the foundation for the talks of the joint comprehensive plan.

As the purpose of the current negotiations is to lift the embargo so that the Iranian people might gain economically from the easing of sanctions, he also believed that the embargo put on Iran under the guise of these pretexts should have been lifted at the Vienna negotiations.

In response, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi emphasised the significance of easing Western sanctions placed on his nation and resolving the guarantees Iran demanded during the nuclear discussions in order to return to the nuclear accord struck in 2015 during a press conference held on Monday.

Additionally, he emphasised that any plan to reestablish Tehran’s nuclear pact with world powers must include international inspectors wrapping up their probes into synthetic uranium particles that had been discovered at unspecified locations throughout the nation.

These statements were made following the conclusion of the nuclear negotiations that were initiated in Vienna in April of last year (2021), and following the presentation of the final text to reinstate the nuclear agreement from August 2022 by the European Union, which coordinates those indirect talks with Washington.
Last week, Iran received a response to this text along with some confidential notes. Then America responded to the European Coordinator a few days ago by presenting its own response.

Iran’s nuclear agreement has not been reached, according to the US State Department.
