The United States imposed sanctions on 13 -based companies based in China, Hong Kong and the UAE, which helped the Iranian oil sector overcome sanctions and facilitated the sale of petrochemicals and petroleum products in East Asia.

The ministry published on its official website on Thursday: “The US Treasury Department of Foreign Assets Office decided to impose sanctions on 13 companies from several countries, which facilitated sales of Iranian petrochemical and petroleum products with hundreds of millions of dollars for buyers in East Asia.

The statement added: “These companies worked on behalf of the Iranian petrochemical sales brokers included in the American ban, which is the Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company, the” Trillas “petrochemical company and the Iranian National Oil Company. ”
Brian Nelson, Undersecretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Affairs, said in the statement.
He stressed that “the United States will continue to implement sanctions against those bodies that facilitate these sales.


Among the targeted companies are companies based in the Emirates and another headquartered by Hong Kong, which was accused by the Treasury of the Treasurer of Petrochemical Company.
Also among the targets is the Dubai -based Axis Technology Company, and the Treasury was accused of buying petrochemical from the Persian Gulf Company for the Petrochemical Industry, which is subject to US sanctions of tens of millions of dollars for shipping to China.

The sanctions also targeted the East Asia Company for Trade, Import and Export based in China, and this company is accused by Washington of facilitating a shipment of oil to a foreign customer of the Iranian National Oil Company and its marketing arm.
