After the curtain came down on the third round of the Spanish League competitions for the 2022-2023 season, with Atletico Madrid beating Valencia 1-0 in the match that brought them together, yesterday, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, of Barcelona, led the table of top scorers in the Spanish League with four goals. Monday, at the end of the tour at Mestalla.
Lewandowski has four goals in three games for Barcelona since the start of the current season, the most recent of which being two goals against Valladolid in the third round of the Spanish League on Sunday evening.
And Lewandowski is tied with Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias, who also scored four goals, and is followed in third place by French Karim Benzema, Real Madrid striker last season’s top scorer, with three goals, after scoring two in a 3-1 victory over Espanyol, and is tied with Spain’s Iago Aspas, Celta Vigo striker, who also scored three goals.
Valencia was in fourteenth place in the Spanish league standings with 3 points collected from one victory and two defeats, scoring a goal and receiving two goals, while Atltico Madrid rose to sixth place in the La Liga standings with 6 points collected from winning two games and losing one, scoring four goals and receiving two goals.
Lewandowski is the top scorer in the Spanish League, but Benzema is closing in.
