The World Cup organizers in Qatar have apologized to the crew of a Danish TV channel that has seized Qatari officials, its live broadcast from Doha, threatening to destroy their equipment.
The Supreme Committee for Projects and Legacy admitted in a statement that the Candles of the Danish channel “TV 2”: “They were suspended by a boycott” late on Tuesday evening.
The statement added, “After examining the championship statement and the photography permit for the crew, an apology was presented to the broadcaster from the security of the site before the crew resumed their activities,” the statement added.
The channel’s correspondent, Rasmos Tantholt, was talking live to a news broadcaster in Denmark when three men succeeded him on an electric cart and tried to block the camera lens.
“You called the whole world to come here, so why can’t we photograph? It is a public place. You can destroy the camera, you want to break it? You threaten us to destroy the camera?”
The Qatari organizers said that they later contacted Tantholt and “also issued directives to all institutions to respect the filming permits that are valid for the tournament. ”
