Ukrainian Defense Council: We are ready to provide evidence about a Russian impact on the attack on Poland

A statement issued by the Minister of National Security and the Ukrainian Defense Council, Alexei Danilov, confirmed that Kyiv wants to conduct a joint investigation into the incident that occurred in Poland, and is demanding the arrival of the missile crash site, according to what was published by the “Sputnik” agency.
The statement said: “We support more detailed study of this incident in conjunction with the partners . ..

The document states that Ukraine is ready to deliver evidence to its Western partners about a “Russian impact” in the accident, and expects information from its partners, on the basis of which a final conclusion has been reached on missile ownership of the Ukrainian side.

Earlier, NATO Secretary -General Jens Stoltenberg said today, Wednesday, that the initial assessment of NATO showed that a Ukrainian air defense missile fell in Poland, but this is not Kyiv’s mistake.

“Our initial analysis indicates that the explosion occurred due to the work of the Ukrainian air defense, which protected Ukrainian territory,” he said after an emergency meeting of the NATO Council at the level of ambassadors regarding the accident of the fall of an air defense missile in Poland. But let’s be clear: This is not Ukraine’s mistake.

According to Stoltenberg, the NATO countries will remain calm and will keep contacts about the incident in Poland, and the Secretary -General indicated that the coalition expresses his condolences to Airo.
He pointed out that NATO maintains lines of communication with Russia, but it will not reveal the details in the incident in Poland.

Stoltenberg added that NATO does not have evidence that the fall of rockets in Poland was the result of intentional actions, saying: “We have nothing to indicate that Russia is preparing for offensive military operations against NATO, and the alliance does not see any evidence indicating Russia’s intention to attack Poland. ”
The Secretary -General confirmed that NATO countries do not intend to use Article 4 of NATO to start consultations due to the accident in Poland.

The Secretary -General also stressed that providing Ukraine with air defense systems is a priority for the alliance, commenting: “NATO is not part of the conflict in Ukraine, and supports NATO and its allies Ukraine so that it can exercise its right to self -defense . . Our main priority at the present time is to provide Ukraine. More air defense systems ».
