The Ministry of Supply in Egypt banned the speculators of the private sector contracting with the Supply Commodities Authority, to mobilize white rice in packages of more than 1 kilogram, except under a statement from the Supply Directorate.
This comes within the ministry’s procedures to organize rice circulation and provide it at appropriate prices for citizens.
This included the procedures of the Ministry of Supply that it directed today to the directorates, that it is not permissible to transfer the white rice outside the governorate cultivated in it, except by obtaining a statement from the director of the directorate, including the rice, and in coordination with the director of the directorate in the governorate transferred to it.
The Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Ali Al -Moselhi, issued directives to the Holding Company for Food Industries, to increase the supply of white rice inside the catering outlets at a price of 10. 50 pounds per kilogram, with the free sale of municipal white rice at a price of 14. 5 pounds per kilogram in all branches of consumer complexes at the level To 1300 consumer complexes.
Based on the decision of Al -Muselhi, the catering directorates in the governorates were formed, inspection committees in each catering directorate consisting of an inspector from the Directorate, an officer from the Supply Investigation, a member of the National Food Safety Authority, an inspector from the Consumer Protection Agency, and an officer from the General Investigation, In order to tighten control and inspection on all places of storage of rice, close the unbelievable warehouses, closing the non -approved rice rackets, seizing the seized quantities, and putting them at the disposal of the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry of Supply stressed that the provision and availability of the rice commodity in front of all citizens, whether holders of cards or not listed on the support system, is the goal of the ministry in making previous decisions.
