Boeing announces Lufthansa delivery of first 787 Dreamliner aircraft

Boeing, a US aircraft manufacturer, said that it had delivered the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Lufthansa, a German airline.
According to Boeing, the 787 Dreamliner aircraft uses 25% less fuel and emits 25% fewer carbon emissions than the aircraft it will replace, and since the Boeing 787s entered service in 2011, the global aviation sector has saved more than 125 billion pounds in emissions.

It is significant that 32 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will be purchased by Lufthansa Group under a contract. Additionally, it has an agreement with the American firm to purchase 20 Boeing 777-9 passenger planes, and it just signed a contract to purchase 7 Boeing 777-8 Freighter freighters.

Boeing reports that Lufthansa has received the first 787 Dreamliner.
