Hamid Johar started 6 decades ago, the first extensive research study of seas studies in Egypt and the Arab world, and Hamid Jawhar took over the management of the marine biology station in Hurghada since its establishment for forty years.
He established a naval museum that includes groups of Red Sea animals and its plants, and also established a library that includes most of the basic references to study the Red Sea.

He established the Aqueous Biology Institute in Al -Aqaba in Suez, and held another museum for the neighborhoods of the Red Sea, and worked as an adviser to science and technology at the League of Arab States in 1970, and a member of the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo in 1973.

He participated in the Arab scientific dictionaries issued by the Arabic Language Academy, most notably the Dictionary of Biology in Biology and Agriculture, which took 8 years from 1976 to 1984 AD, and some of the major Arab scholars participated in it.

He had a famous weekly television program that was broadcast on Friday called the world of the seas, and it lasted for 18 years, as he was displaying films about the various marine creatures and he commented, explaining the image and identified by different factions and their customs and attributes, and Dr. Hamid Jawhar had a distinctive voice associated with the minds of viewers over the course of Those years.
