The draft of the closing statement of the Group of Twenty Summit in Bali revealed that the participating countries, including Russia, will condemn the economic repercussions of the Ukraine war, which will be condemned by most of the countries affiliated with the bloc.

The draft drew attention to the existence of “other views” stating that “the Group of Twenty is not the platform designated for resolving security issues”, but member states acknowledge that security issues “may bear great consequences for the global economy.


The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which started eight months ago, caused a catastrophic rise in food and fuel prices worldwide, which introduced millions of additional people in a state of poverty and increased the possibilities of famine for some.

Ukraine is among the largest grain producers in the world and commented after the Russian invasion of 20 million tons of grain in its ports until the United Nations and Turkey sponsored an agreement in July that provides a safe passage for shipments.
