Lapid calls on Netanyahu not to harm national security due to political considerations

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid urged opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu not to jeopardise national security for political reasons.
I am not prepared to engage in a duel with the opposition leader because it would jeopardise Israel’s security, Lapid said in a tweet, emphasising the significance of a united Israeli approach against Iran’s quest to get nuclear weapons.

He went on to say, “I urge the opposition leader and everyone else not to allow political considerations jeopardise our national security.”
I am unwilling to engage in a fight with the opposition chairman because it would jeopardise Israel’s security. It is critical for Israel to take a unified stance against Iran’s attempt to develop nuclear weapons. And I urge the chairman of the opposition, as well as everyone else, not to allow political considerations jeopardise our national security.

Earlier on Monday, Lapid met with Netanyahu and briefed him on Israel’s diplomatic and security efforts to influence the nuclear issue.
