UN calls for halt to actions that deepen divisions in Libya

The United Nations acknowledged that it is still monitoring the situation in Libya’s capital, Tripoli, in the aftermath of Saturday’s deadly confrontations, and urged everyone to avoid acts that exacerbate differences.

During the daily press conference, the official spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, stated that the fighting has resulted in at least 32 deaths and 159 injuries, including children, as well as damage to civilian infrastructure, and that the UN reiterates its call on the parties to protect civilians and refrain from taking any action.
