The value of Egypt’s imports from 5 countries, namely China, Saudi Arabia, America, the Russian Federation, and Kuwait, increased by 21% during the first 8 months of 2022.
Imports recorded $ 25. 364 billion, compared to $ 20. 963 billion during the same period in 2021.
The foreign trade bulletin issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, published by Egyptian economic sites, showed that the five countries acquired 39. 3% of the total imports of Egypt.
The Egyptian imports from the five countries recorded about 3. 337 billion dollars last August, compared to $ 2. 739 billion during the same month from 2021, an increase of 21. 8%.
The value of Egypt’s imports from the Russian Federation increased by 9. 4% to $ 2. 443 billion, compared to $ 2. 233 billion, to account for 3. 8% of the total, as well as during August by 20. 1% to reach 371. 515 million dollars, compared to 309. 288 million dollars.
China was at the top of the list of the largest countries supplied to Egypt during the period between January- August 2022, with 15. 4% of the total Egyptian imports during that period. The value of Egypt’s imports from China to about 9. 924 billion dollars, compared to 9. 283 billion dollars, by 6. 9%, while it decreased during August for the seventh month in a row by 12. 9% to $ 1. 186 billion, compared to 1. 362 billion dollars.
Saudi Arabia controls 9. 1%of Egypt’s imports of $ 5.
838 billion during the first 8 months of 2022, compared to $ 4. 254 billion, an increase of 37. 2%, and reached 684. 267 million dollars during August, compared to 583. 877 million dollars, with a growth of 17. 2%.
The United States of America accounts for 7. 8%of Egypt’s imports of $ 4. 997 billion, compared to $ 4. 1 billion, with a growth of 21. 9%, and during August recorded about 490. 632 million dollars, compared to 442. 499 million dollars, a growth of 10. 9%.
The value of Egypt’s imports from Kuwait to about 2. 161 billion dollars during the period between January- August 2022, compared to $ 1. 092 billion during the same period last year, an increase of 97. 9% to account for 3. 4% of the total, while it declined during August by 350. 9% to reach 605. 229 million dollar.
