Reports: Washington is discussing with Moscow and urging Kyiv the same thing

Al-Madinah News:- The Russian newspaper Kommersant reported today, Monday, quoting a source that has not been revealed that officials from Russia and the United States are talking talks in the Turkish capital, Ankara. This comes amid a state of severe tension between Moscow and Washington over the war in Ukraine.
A Turkish official refrained from commenting whether the conversations were ongoing, while the Kremlin said he could not confirm or deny the report.

Kommersant did not provide details about the purpose of the conversations, but said that the meeting was not previously announced. She added that Sergey Narychkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, was part of the Russian delegation.
The report comes at a time when Ukraine is celebrating the restoration of the southern city of Khaisson, and it is the largest award for its forces so far, after the withdrawal of Russian forces from the region.

Turkey has been presenting itself as a mediator between Moscow and the West since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. Ankara helped mediate an agreement between Moscow and Kiev on the export of grains from the Ukrainian ports besieged on the Black Sea last July.

In a related context, the American newspaper “Wall Street Journal” confirmed the existence of “a strong turn in Washington’s position on the war in Ukraine”, as the American administration “is pushing for negotiations” between Kyiv and Moscow.
The newspaper stressed that “US officials urged Ukraine to start peace negotiations with Russia before the coming of the winter. ”
