The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed today, Monday, that the United States will be able to “meet with China in the middle of the road” to enhance mutual cooperation between the two sides.
This came in statements made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning – at a periodic press conference today, Monday, commenting on the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his American counterpart Joe Biden in Bali, Indonesia.
Mao said that the political position of China towards the United States is fixed and clear, according to the official website of the Chinese CGN TV network.
She added: “We are committed to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and profitable cooperation of both sides with the United States, and at the same time we will strongly defend our sovereignty, security and development interests.
”
It also indicated that China views its relations with the United States and its development in accordance with the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and profitable cooperation of the two sides proposed by President Xi, and calls for the right way to move forward in bilateral relations in the new era.
“We hope that the United States will be able to meet with China in the middle of the road, to properly manage differences, enhance mutual cooperation, avoid misunderstanding and poor appreciation, and restore China -American relations to the right track of sound development,” she said..
