The head of the Consumer Protection Agency in Egypt, Ayman Hossam, revealed the reasons for the disappearance of rice from the markets, stressing that there is a self -sufficiency of rice, and there is no deficit in the crop.
Ayman Hossam said, during a phone call to the program “From Egypt” on the Egyptian “CBC” channel, that there is a package of severe measures against rice speculation, and those who are caused by the recent crisis, stressing that the prices of rice specified by the Ministry of Supply are very fair.
He added: “The existing problem due to rice is a stigma in the forehead of many, due to the semi -merchants and rice speculation, and we started discovering that each one has 20 thousand pounds bought the rice to speculate on it, and this prompted the Prime Minister to put forced prices to trade rice. ”
