Palestinian Presidency: Going to United Nations institutions is a legitimate right

Al-Madinah News:- The Palestinian presidency said, on Sunday, that going to the United Nations institutions is a legitimate right for all, criticizing Israel’s “underestimation” of international legitimacy.

This came in a statement by the presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudaina in response to the Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, who criticized the request of the International Court of Justice regarding the Israeli “occupation” of the Palestinian territories, according to the official Palestinian News Agency.

Abu Rudaina added: “Going to the United Nations institutions is a legitimate right for all, and the continuous Israeli attempts to underestimate international legitimacy constitute a challenge for the world and all countries, and for human rights institutions that aim to preserve the rights of all peoples of the world.

He stated that “the continuous threats by the leaders of the occupation and the accusation of the State of Palestine of having a unilateral measure is a matter of surprise because the occupation takes place every day by all unilateral actions, whether by violating the agreements or by not adhering to them in all fields.

He continued: “The State of Palestine has the right to resort to international legitimacy and international law, and the Palestinian people and its leadership will not give up their rights guaranteed by international legitimacy and international law. ”
On Saturday, Lapid denounced the Palestinian draft resolution to request a legal fatwa from the International Court of Justice, regarding what the occupation is.

He added: “Israel strongly rejects the Palestinian draft resolution,” considering that it is “another unilateral step that works against the basic principles that will resolve the conflict and it may harm every possibility to carry out a peaceful process in the future.

And Friday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry announced that the committee for political issues, and the end of colonialism, adopted the request of Palestine a legal fatwa from the International Court of Justice, regarding what the long -term and illegal Israeli occupation is and its “crimes”.

The United Nations Committee, which met between 3 and 11 November, is considering the terms of the agenda that the United Nations General Assembly refers to, and is recommended recommendations and draft decisions and decisions to be submitted to the General Assembly in its entirety, according to the website of the international organization.
