According to an article in “Russia Today,” French Foreign Minister Catherine Colona stated that Europe needs to become more autonomous from the United States in order to avoid living in constant anticipation of American election results.
In an interview with the newspaper “Le Parisien,” Colona stated, “I only say that if the Europeans do not want to live in a state of anticipation before every American election, they should find a way to be more independent.”
She clarified, “This does not mean to increase the departure from the United States.
Commenting on the results of the midterm elections in the United States, Colonna considered that the Republicans “did not show prominent results as expected.
In the meantime, I said that it would be premature to release the results of the vote before announcing them globally.
