Democrats keep their control over the US Senate

On Sunday morning, the Democratic Party won the seat it needed to retain the control of the US Senate, a decisive victory for the continuity of Joe Biden, according to local media.
According to American TV channels, Democratic Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto defeated former President Donald Trump in the state of Nevada four days after the mid-term elections that disappointed the Republicans.

The 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 in the Senate, and 36 state governorships were all up for reelection on Tuesday when Americans went to the polls.

The mid -term elections, which are organized after two years of presidential elections, often constitute a “punitive vote” for the existing administration in the United States!
According to reports, the Republicans were confident that they could deny Biden the majority in Congress following a campaign between the blue and red parties that focused on inflation and high prices as well as fuel, miscarriages, and other issues. This was especially true given that Biden’s popularity was dwindling.

However, the Democratic Party did better than expected in reducing its losses and prevented former President Donald Trump from organising an “extensive tide movement” in Congress.

Democrats continue to hold sway in the US Senate
