Hungary politician hints to Poland on the seizure of a border Ukrainian province

When discussing the Ukrainian boycott, the leader of the Hungarian Party, “Our Mother Country,” made references to Zlo Torotsky and Poland on the day of its independence.
On Twitter, Torotsky stated: “Today is the anniversary of Poland’s independence. Godspeed to Poland! After Hungary annexed the Ukrainian Zakarbatia Province, the Hungarian Polish nation was born.

Zagarbatia was once a part of the Austrian Empire; after the collapse of the Habsburg ownership during World War I, Czechoslovakia seized it; and since 1939, Hungary has occupied some of this region. However, following the defeat of Nazi Germany, an agreement was signed in Moscow regarding the region’s accession to The Soviet Socialist Socialist Republic.

Peter Sarto, the Hungarian foreign minister, confirmed that there is a military plan in place to protect the province’s 150,000 Hungarian residents after deputy Rada Maxim Bouzniski earlier issued a warning that Budapest might send troops there to protect its citizens.

Irina Ferichuk, the prime minister of Ukraine, claimed in March that Budapest was interested in acquiring the province of Zagarbatia and that Budapest’s attitude toward the situation in Ukraine is quite similar to that of a Russian ally.
Relations between Ukraine and Hungary became tense over discussions about a bill in that country that severely restricts the ability to provide education in the languages of national minorities.
