In order to strengthen their already-existing ties, the Arab League and the UN Human Settlements Program have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding tomorrow, Sunday. The agreement will focus on localising the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development 2030 and the New Urban Plan as well as the implementation of the Agenda.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to achieve concrete results by supporting the Arab countries and the Arab region in the field of housing and sustainable urban development, especially by increasing technical cooperation between regional and Qatari offices of the United Nations Human Settlements Program in the Arab region and member states of the Arab League, and its specialized organizations The link, support the university’s initiatives at the local, national, and regional levels; develop and carry out joint projects; and strengthen the role of local and national governments in creating and carrying out various regional and international agendas of the UN at the urban level; support the Arab citizen and the comfort of his life.

It also aims to serve all stakeholders in urban areas throughout the region and the world by producing technical reports and taking part in resource mobilisation efforts.
