Messi: The 2014 World Cup is unforgettable

The 2014 World Cup losing team and the current Argentina national team share many characteristics, according to star player Lionel Messi.
For the first time since 1986, the Argentine team is travelling to Qatar this month in the hopes of winning the World Cup.
Messi, the former Barcelona star who is currently playing for Paris Saint -Germain, said this tournament is likely to be the last World Cup to play.

Messi led his nation to victory in the Copa America Cup in 2021 and finished as the tournament’s leading scorer with four goals, but he was unsuccessful in winning the biggest football championship.
After leading Argentina to the World Cup final and watching Mario Gotze and his German teammates win, Messi was named the best player of the 2014 edition.

Messi, however, asserted that Argentina’s current roster contains a component similar to that of the squad that competed in the 2014 final.
In interviews with the Argentine newspaper “Oli,” Messi said: “The 2014 World Cup was an unforgettable experience. We gave a great performance.”
He added: I enjoyed that championship a lot and I knew that the most important thing for me is the unity of the team and the strength of the group.

In the end, this results in accomplishing the significant objective, he said, adding: “Today, I feel a lot of similarities between the current team and the 2014 team.”
Along with Saudi Arabia, Poland, and Mexico, the Argentine national team is in the third World Cup group.
