Russia vows to sell gas to Europeans for 5,000 euros

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, predicted that gas prices will reach a record high by the end of 2022.
Heads of state and government in the European Union, due to the rise in gas costs to 3,500 euros per thousand cubic metres, we will have to increase the anticipated price to 5,000 euros by the end of 2022, Medvedev said on his Telegram account.

According to Medvedev’s remarks from yesterday, Russia is prepared to provide Europe with the gas it needs in the quantities outlined in the contracts, but if the EU becomes jaded and declines to maintain the Northern Stream pipeline’s turbines or begin construction on the North Stream 2 pipeline, it will not be able to obtain the quantities it needs.
We have never refused to supply gas to Europe, Medvedev said in a statement to the French channel LCI.

They were the ones who refused and said that they did not need Russian gas and that they could not pay in euros or dollars because they halted the correspondence system with our banks even though we built the North Stream 2 pipeline and met all of our obligations. Then we came to the conclusion that our only option was to pay with rubles. In other words, these are the results of the sanctions war launched by the West.

Yes, we are now prepared to provide gas in the agreed-upon amounts.
