Minister of Communications: We are keen to cooperate with major international companies to adopt green technology to reduce climate change

During the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Microsof, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat emphasised the Egyptian government’s eagerness to forge strong alliances in order to meet the target of the national climate change strategy 2050, as well as the state’s goals in achieving low economic growth for emissions and enhancing its capacity to adapt to climate change and mitigate its adverse effects.

The Minister of Communications added that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s efforts to work with major international corporations to adapt technology to address environmental issues are in line with the cooperation with Microsoft. This cooperation aims to develop and prepare Egyptian cadres’ capabilities to be able to manage the state’s sustainability system using the most recent green technologies.

Amr Talaat continued, “Whereas the signature comes in conjunction with Egypt, the presidency of the twenty-seventh session of the Climate Conference “COP 27,” the cooperation comes in line with the efforts of the state at the local and global levels to adopt environmentally friendly policies and interact favourably with the issue of climate changes.”
