Students, Staff Inside Junior College South of Montreal Ordered to Shelter in Place

In connection with a police operation, a guy was detained on Friday morning at a junior college south of Montreal.
Around 10:50 a.m., Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu police confirmed the arrest, only stating that a man was taken into custody and that the operation was still ongoing.
Social media is flooded with pictures of a man being detained by police in what appears to be a flak jacket.
At the CEGEP Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, which is about 40 kilometres south of Montreal, no insults have been reported.

The Junior College issued a directive ordering all students and employees to barricade themselves in closed spaces and turn off the lights. According to the College, the Police asked for the orders to be given.
The general director of the college, Nathalie Beaudoin, claims that parents, students, and others are being asked to avoid the school. For the day, all activities have been postponed.
AS OF 11:30 A. M. , The Cegep Said The Lockdown and Police Operation Are Still Underway, But that the investigation is progressing.
