Everyone at the Pierrefonds Community High School Futsal Tournament is rooting for the same team, including the referees.
As a part of their senior project, they are banding together to raise money for the Tristano Ricci Scholarship, which was established by Ricci’s closest friends Chiara Michakis and Julian Rosa.
He Played a Major Role in This School. There are many families and friends here, and we all miss him, Rosa said.
The bone cancer osteosarcoma was identified as Ricci’s ailment.
I valiantly battled the illness till my death in May 2021.
His peers remember him as a charismatic leader and outstanding athlete who had a positive impact on everyone he encountered.
He was the class clown, according to Austyn Pagalunan, a student in grade 11. He was content.
Before Ricci intervened and became his first friend at his new school, Pagalunan remembers changing schools and being “The New Kid.”
I’m fortunate to have Tristano.
You know, if I hadn’t met him, I doubt that I would have known who I am now.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide Ricci with the means to continue impacting people’s lives beyond his passing.
The mother of Ricci Tassi stated, “It’s Emotional.” I wasn’t sure how I would respond, but I’m happy. This is the essence of the matter and this is who he was.

The tournament is raising money through entry fees and the sale of raffle tickets for donated prizes from nearby businesses.
Michakis wants to raise enough money over a number of years to offer the $ 500 scholarship.
To keep His legacy alive and to remember Him, Michakis said.
