Washington, D.C. Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock finds himself in the middle of it once more, this time facing off against Republican Herschel Walker, as a result of Georgia’s election runoff rules, which determine control of the Senate for the second consecutive time.

Unless one party wins both of the other upcoming Senate races in Arizona and Nevada, the balance of power in the Senate may once again depend on the outcome of the unfinished race in Georgia.
Here is a look at the candidates and the process that will be used to decide the Georgia Senate race in December:
Who is eligible to vote?
A third candidate, liberanary chase Oliver, Took 2. 1% in the initial round of ballting nov. 8.
That was done in order to prevent former Georgia football stars Warnock and Walker from receiving more than 50% of the vote, which is needed to avoid a runoff.
Walker and warnock were separated by less than one percantage point, with warnock in the lead. On December 6, they will be the only candidates under consideration.

How will voting take place?
Similar to any other campaign, the runoff campaign will likely involve weeks of intense campaigning, advertising, and surrogacy. Absentee ballot requests can be made now, but ballots won’t be mailed until November 18. Prior to the polls closing on December 6, mail-in ballots must be received.
Early voting must begin by November 28, though subcounties may begin earlier, according to state officials.
Voting early ends on December 2.
What occurred the last time?
It will be Warnock’s second runoff after winning his seat in a special election runoff on January 5, 2021. The Georgia seats gave Democrats the slender majority they have been defending this year, along with Jon Ossoff’s victory in a concurrent Senate runoff.
Only one of the Georgia seats is up this year, unlike in 2020. Ossoff was elected to a full six-year term and won’t be up for reelection until 2026 by defeating republican Sen. David Perdue.
Arizona and Nevada, where Republicans are attempting to unseat democratic incumbents, will determine whether Georgia becomes a winner-take-all state for a second consecutive election.
WHO IS CHEWING IN?
Given the tight partisan divide in the Senate, numerous elections across the nation have drawn high-profile surrogates, but Georgia has occasionally served as the focal point of national Democrat and Republican efforts.
Now that the runoff is scheduled, it is anticipated that this will happen more frequently as potential 2024 presidential candidates try to tip the scales by capitalising on all the attention.
This previously occurred prior to the runoff election in January 2021, which took place nine weeks after the general election in 2020. Since then, a change in state law has shortened that window to four weeks in order to coincide the state and federal runoff elections.
