Remembrance Day in Halifax: WHERE TO FIND Ceremonies, and What’s Open, CLOSED

The majority of businesses will be closed on Friday in observance of Remembrance Day as people participate in ceremonies honouring those who have served and those who have given their lives in battle.
In Nova Scotia, the holiday has its OWN legislation that forbids subm Businesses from being open on November 11.
A List of Remembrance Day ceremonies in The Halifax Follows The List of Closures.

Many businesses will be closed as a result of the Remembrance Day Act, including most grocery stores, all NSLC Outlets, big box stores, and malls.
Buses and ferries operated by Halifax Transit will run on holiday schedules.
All veterans and active military personnel, as well as their accompanying family members, are eligible for free transit service from the municipality.
Those wishing to utilise the free transit service on November 11 are required to board in uniform or with military identification.

Also, HALIFAX Transit will stop the bus at that location at 11 a.m. to observe the Three Minutes of Silence.
On November 11, on-street parking will be free, but other signs, such those for no parking zones and accessible parking spaces, will still be in place.
On November 11th, there will be no municipal garbage, organics, or recyclables collections. Collection of items that were supposed to be picked up on Friday will now take place on Saturday.
The 311 Contact Center Will Be Operating Regular Hours from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m.
