Election observers welcome if they follow the rules

Wisconsin’s DE PERE (WBAY) – Anybody is welcome to watch the election closely as long as they are not vying for a position on the ballot. Although anyone in the public is permitted to observe the election, there are laws in place to protect voters from interference.
When observers arrive at a polling place, the Wisconsin Elections Commission advises them to check in with a poll worker. They can follow instructions from poll workers and watch the voting process in a designated area.

The number of observers from the same group or candidate may be restricted by election officials.
According to Carrie Danen, the De Pere City Clerk, it’s critical to inform the public about the laws in place to uphold electoral integrity.
“I definitely have seen an increase in the amount of questions and concerns expressed by people in the last 2 or 3 years because of the climate we’ve been in.

Information and misinformation is running rampant on social media, and so it’s caused people to think about the election process in ways they probably never considered before,” Danen said.
Regardless of their political views, observers are treated with the same respect, according to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Election observers are welcome as long as they adhere to the rules.
