The US Secretary of State is heading to Egypt to participate in COP27

US Secretary of State for Energy Resources Jeffrey Payat left the country and travelled to Sharm El Sheikh to take part in the work of the UNFCCC Parties Conference for COP27.

The US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources, according to a US State Department statement, will take part in conferences and discussions aimed at fostering international cooperation on the transition to clean energy, cutting emissions across industries, significant supply chains, and technological innovation.

The statement made note of the fact that Jeffrey Payat’s attendance at COP27, along with that of the American delegation headed by Special Envoy to the President John Kerry, confirms Washington’s resolve to address the climate crisis while bolstering its goals for power security.

In order to take part in COP27, the US Secretary of State is travelling to Egypt.
