Egypt .. a tourist naked in front of the Sphinx to capture a selfie

The Sphinx is located in the area of the ancient pyramids, south of Cairo, and in a contentious incident, the Egyptian authorities stopped a foreign tourist from stripping off, taking off their clothes, and taking selfies and memorial photos while there.
In accordance with Egyptian laws, customs, and traditions, a foreign tourist attempted to strip off in front of the Sphinx, according to information released by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.

The ministry claimed that while a member of the administrative security was in the vicinity of the Giza Pyramids, one of the tourists tried to take pictures of herself naked in front of the Sphinx. The security personnel told her to cover up because doing so would be against Egyptian law and would be considered disrespectful by Egyptian customs and traditions.

She continued, appealing to all visitors and tourists, both Egyptian and foreign, in Egypt’s archaeological areas and museums, to abide by the controls and laws regulating visiting these places in order to preserve them and Egypt’s tourism reputation. This visitor was then permitted to finish their visit to the archaeological area without encountering any obstacles.
