The Prime Minister of Norway pledges to provide his country 3 times the financing of adaptation

Jonnas Jarst Soura, the prime minister of Norway, promised to give his nation three times the funding for adaptation, particularly for African nations, noting that the livelihoods of millions of weak and poor people are at risk due to losses in the natural world brought on by climate change.

Stera said, during his speech today, Tuesday, within the activities of the second day of the presidential part of the twenty -seventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), that Norway will reduce emissions by no less than 55% by 2030, as a climate target under the Paris Agreement By increasing the carbon tax to 200 euros per tonne by 2030, it will also put into practise a just climate policy.

The Conference of the Parties this year is the implementation conference to reduce emissions, increase resilience in the face of climate change, and make the transition to more renewable energy, he said, adding that Norway is working to develop an annual climate work plan and to double climate financing over the next four years.

He emphasised how the “Global Energy Alliance for People and the Planet” initiative would enable the fair transformation of energy to accelerate and amplify the creation of decent job opportunities for one billion people in developing nations.

He emphasised that the first stage of the integrated green hydrogen production facility’s opening in Egypt will enable the use of solar energy with hydrogen, showing the continent’s enormous capacity to produce renewable energy, and he expressed his happiness to collaborate with Egypt in this area.
