Algeria announces the start of production in an oil field 7 months after its discovery

The Algerian national company “Sonatrach” announced the start of production in an oil field in the Berkin Basin, Ouargla, in the south of the country, in partnership with the Italian company “Eni”, 7 months after its discovery.
The “HDLE-HDLS” oil field, which is connected to the “Arab Zaman” contract and is situated in the Berkin Basin, 300 kilometres southeast of Hassi Masoud, according to a statement from the Sonatrach complex.

Only seven months after its discovery, in October of last year, production in this field received a license.
An estimated 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent will be produced daily by the field.
The “Sonatrach” administration indicated that it is expected to increase the level of production in it through the implementation of the accelerated development plan, which in particular includes digging new wells in the year 2023, which will allow the production level to be raised to about 17 thousand barrels per day.

The ocean of the Arab’s colleague is subject to the fuel research and exploitation contract in which “Sonatrach” has 51 percent of the shares, while “Eni” has the remaining 49 percent.
